RELEVANT HOW TO PLAY VIDEOS - training - squad - staff

Training calculations happen once a week (on Sunday) and are automated.  All you need to do is make sure you've set the training you'd like to implement before this day and make sure the players that you wish to train, have played in the correct position during the previous League games that week.

Two types of training are available to be implemented, by the manager, each week.  They are:

  • TEAM TRAINING
  • FOCUSED TRAINING

TEAM TRAINING is generalised areas of training for the entire squad.  It realises reduced training efficiency when compared to FOCUSED TRAINING, for that week – exception is PHYSICAL CONDITION training which has its own specific training benefit.

FOCUSED TRAINING is where the coaches spend extra time on one skill (Focus Skill) with a specific group of players (Focus Player Group).  It should be noted that not only is the Focus Skill trained, the ‘Related Skill’ will also be trained to a 20% reduced rate.  Keep reading for more infomation.

NOTE:  A player will only receive Focused Training if he has played at least one League game that week in the positions that are are nominated by you to be trained (see Focused Training Groups section below).

Training speed is dependent upon 4 things:

  • Player Age
  • Player Body Type
  • Player Height
  • Staff Employed

As player age increases, the training speed will decrease.

Body Type will affect training as listed below:

  • Wirey – Training bonus for Possession, Tackling, Agility and Pace.  Training penalty for Ruckwork, Marking, Strength and Aggression.
  • Athletic – no bonuses or penalties.
  • Powerful – Training bonus for Ruckwork, Marking, Strength and Aggression.  Training penalty for Possession, Tackling, Agility and Pace.

Height will affect training as listed below:

  • <185cm – Training bonus for Possession, Tackling, Agility and Pace.  Training penalty for Ruckwork, Marking, Strength and Aggression.
  • 185-195cm inclusive – no bonus or penalty.
  • >195cm – Training bonus for Ruckwork, Marking, Strength and Aggression.  Training penalty for Possession, Tackling, Agility and Pace.

Staff employed that have ‘training bonuses’ will be added to the calculations for each weeks training.

FOCUSED TRAINING GROUPS
Each week, you can select a certain group of your squad to undertake focussed training in 1 of the 10 skill categories. The squad segmentation is:

  • On-Ball = RK, RO, RR - 100% TRAINING EFFICIENCY
  • Midfield = C, RW, LW - 100% TRAINING EFFICIENCY
  • Ruck Options = RK, CHF, CHB - 100% TRAINING EFFICIENCY
  • Half Forwards = RHF, CHF, LHF - 100% TRAINING EFFICIENCY
  • Half Backs = RHB, CHB, LHB - 100% TRAINING EFFICIENCY
  • Backs = RBP, FB, LBP - 100% TRAINING EFFICIENCY
  • Forwards = RFP, FF, LFP - 100% TRAINING EFFICIENCY
  • Onball + Midfield = RK, RO, RR, C, RW, LW - 50% TRAINING EFFICIENCY
  • Forwards + Half Forwards = RFP, FF, LFP, RHF, CHF, LHF - 50% TRAINING EFFICIENCY
  • Backs + Half Backs = RBP, FB, LBP, RHB, CHB, LHB - 50% TRAINING EFFICIENCY
  • Squad = every player on list - 10% TRAINING EFFICIENCY

TEAM TRAINING OPTIONS

  • GROUND WORK – Possession and Tackling.
  • AERIAL WORK – Marking & Ruckwork.
  • TRACK WORK – Pace & Agility.
  • GYM WORK – Strength & Aggression.
  • MATCH EXPERIENCE – Reading Play & Goal Kicking.
  • PHYSICAL CONDITION – This will add 1% to the Physical Condition rating for all players that week regardless of the height, body type and age of the player (ie. it trains all players equally).
